What ABUS says about its build
The shackle is 20 mm thick with a square profile, made from specially hardened steel and locked at both ends inside the body. ABUS Power Cell technology is said to protect against impact and access attacks, and the item highlight mentions tungsten carbide protection, a material used to resist cutting.
The X-Plus cylinder is designed to resist picking. A plastic coating helps avoid scratching your frame.
The rating question
Unlike the Hiplok and ABUS chain listings, this one does not state a Sold Secure grade. It relies on the ABUS level 15 rating, which is a manufacturer scale rather than an independent UK standard. If your insurer requires a specific Sold Secure grade, confirm this lock's status before you buy.
