Electric mountain bikes

E-MTBs for trails and bridleways. Suspension, tyres and motor torque matter more here than top speed, which stays at 15.5 mph assisted.

Hardtails have front suspension only and cost less; full-suspension bikes are more comfortable and controlled on rough descents.

Mid-drive motors are the norm on e-MTBs because they use the gears. Torque in Nm describes climbing pull, not legal power, which is still 250 W continuous for road and bridleway use.
