Folding e-bikes
Folding e-bikes for trains, flats and car boots. Compare the folded size and weight first, then the motor and battery.
- Typical wheels
- 16 to 20 inch
- Typical weight
- 17 to 25 kg

A folding e-bike only helps if you can lift and store it. Note the folded size in cm and the weight with the battery, and check your train operator's rules on folded bikes.
Small wheels accelerate quickly but feel every pothole; fat-tyre folders ride more softly but are heavier and wider when folded.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the biggest battery and ending up with a bike too heavy to carry.
