Conversion kits
Front hub, rear hub and mid-drive kits that turn a bike you own into a pedal-assist e-bike. Fit and the 250 W limit come first.
- Road-legal kit
- 250 W, 15.5 mph cut-off

Many kits are sold in 500 W to 1,000 W versions. On UK roads only a kit set to 250 W continuous with assistance cut at 15.5 mph keeps the bike an EAPC.
Check the dropout width, wheel size, brake type and bottom bracket before you order. A front hub kit is the simplest to fit; a mid-drive needs the right bottom bracket tools.
Common mistakes
- Fitting a hub motor to a front fork with carbon or thin aluminium dropouts.
