The Hamax Outback is aimed at parents who plan longer rides where a child may nod off, and who want a trailer that also works as a pushchair at the destination. Its distinguishing points are reclining seats and large windows that, according to Hamax, give children a good view out. It is the heaviest child trailer in our comparison, so it suits riders who value cabin comfort over lifting weight.

Our take
Comfort and visibility
Hamax describes a comfortable interior with reclining seats, an adjustable 5-point harness and adjustable suspension intended to give a steadier ride. The windows are large, which helps children who get restless when they cannot see out. Front and rear reflectors are mentioned in the product title.
The listing gives a minimum age of 6 months. That is earlier than many parents expect to start, so follow the manual on head support and seating position for very young children.
What comes in the box
The included components are the trailer, a bicycle arm, a quick release wheel, a stroller wheel and a safety flag. In practice that means you can ride and walk with it without extra purchases. Hamax says the trailer folds for transport and is usable on many kinds of terrain.
Weight, load and the warranty field
The Outback weighs 17 kg and has a 40 kg maximum load with a 117 cm height limit. On an e-bike the motor handles the mass on hills, but braking and lifting into a car still take effort. Compared with the Burley Encore X at 10.9 kg, the difference is large.
Two gaps are worth noting. The listing does not say whether the bicycle arm suits thru-axles or hub motors, and the manufacturer warranty field reads no warranty. Check with the seller what cover applies before buying.
Compared with the Thule and the Burleys
The Thule Chariot Cross 2 G3 shares the reclining seats and adjustable suspension but carries 44 kg at a slightly lower 16.1 kg trailer weight, plus a one-hand hitch. The Burley Honey Bee gives up recline for a much lighter frame and a stated e-bike friendly design.
Verdict
The Outback fits families who want reclining seats, big windows and a stroller wheel included, and who do not mind a 17 kg trailer. If weight or warranty clarity matter more, look at the Burley Honey Bee or Encore X; for similar comfort with a higher load limit, the Thule Chariot Cross 2 G3.
